Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the Board of Education of the School District of Oakland-Craig, in the County of Burt, in the State of Nebraska, a/k/a School District No. 014, has been scheduled on February 13, 2023 at 8:00 p.m. This meeting will be held at the Oakland-Craig Elementary Building at Oakland, NE, in the Board meeting room, which meeting will be open to the public. First grade keeps knocking out those math facts on xtra math! Way to go kiddo!
The O-C 5th grade science class has been learning about particle models of matter. To demonstrate, we did an activity where CO2 gas particles built up in a bottle and spread out in the container until it couldn’t hold the pressure any more, so the bottle pops off into the air.
The 6th grade class did an activity where Mr. Meyer used a blowtorch on a paper cup filled with water to show how water acts as an insulator, limiting the thermal energy transfer.

Bright Knights staff spent our teacher work day learning new youth development concepts, and learning more about ourselves so we can work better as a team. Thanks to Stacey Keys and Julie Boyle from UNL Extension and Kylie Penke for spending the day enriching us!
Today we celebrated Emersen and Bodhi for running their first marathon.
